Glucose metabolism in Lactococcus lactis MG1363 under different aeration conditions: requirement of acetate to sustain growth under microaerobic conditions
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on metabolic behavior of Lactococcus lactis MG1363. The study of this behavior has been carried out via the batch cultivation experiments with this bacterium growing on glucose under various aeration conditions, and the results demonstrate that acetate is important in sustaining growth.

Use of phospholipid fatty acids to detect previous self-heating events in stored peat
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on self-heating in peat. The authors describe the use of phospholipid fatty acid analysis for detection of self-heating in peat, and the effect of mesophilic and thermophilic temperatures on the microbial community structure.

Oxygen-insensitive nitroreductases NfsA and NfsB of Escherichia coli function under anaerobic conditions as lawsone-dependent azo reductases
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Escherichia coli. The ability of this bacterium to perform lawsone-dependent azo reductases, and the enzymatic activity responsible for this ability have been investigated, and the results are reported.
