Article Abstract:
Reserch shows that the recognition by the endoplasm reticulum-Golgi SNAREs Bet1, Sed5, and Sec22 of the yeast COPII coat buds occurs via three binding sites on the Sec23/24 subcomplex of COPII. Data indicate that COPII coat appears to a specific conductor of these fusogenic forms of SNAREs to facilitate vesicle fusion specificity during budding in yeast.

Results show that during mitotic cell division Golgi membranes disperse and reform across endoplasm reticulum, maximally using constitutive recycling pathways. Data further indicate that endoplasm reticulum plays an essential role in the Golgi coplex's genesis and inheritance.
