Growth and methane oxidation rates of anaerobic methanotrophic archaea in a continuous-flow bioreactor

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on microbial anaerobic methane oxidation. The study of this oxidation has been carried out via the use of continuous-flow anaerobic methane incubation system developed for the stimulation of methanotrophic archaea metabolism and growth, and the results are presented.

Identification of methyl coenzyme M reductase A (mcrA) genes associated with methane-oxidising archaea

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on methane-oxidising archaea. The hypothesis that these bacteria have co-opted the methanogenic pathway has been tested via the isolation of methane-oxidising archaea genes by different approaches including PCR surveys of naturally occurring populations.

Isolation of a methanogen from deep marine sediments that contain methane hydrates, and description of Methanoculleus submarinus sp. nov

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on methanogen from deep marine sediments containing methane hydrates. The authors have isolated this methanogen and have proposed the name Methanoculleus submarinus for this organism.
