Local spreading of MSL complexes from roX genes on the Drosophila X chromosome

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on MSL proteins and noncoding roX RNAs which up-regulate genes on the Drosophila male X chromosome. The authors describe the model of MSL complex distribution, and report that when overexpressed, MSL proteins can recognize X chromosome, partially restore male viability in the absense of roX RNAs and modify histones.

Crystal structure of the Drosophila Mago nashi-Y14 complex

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Drosophila Mago nashi-Y14 complex. The authors have investigated the structure of this complex in order to understant the structural basis of Mago nashi-Y14 interactions, and the structural analysis reveals the mode of this interaction via the RNA-binding surface of the Y14 recognition motif.
