Methanotroph diversity in landfill soil: isolation of novel type I and type II methanotrophs whose presence was suggested by culture-independent 16S ribosomal DNA analysis
Article Abstract:
Research is conducted on the isolation of a wide range of slow-growing methanotrophic bacteria from acidic landfill soil for the culturing studies. Two culture-independent 16S ribosomal DNA approaches and a traditional culture-based approach are discussed.

Impacts of the reduction of nutrient levels on bacterial water quality in distribution systems
Article Abstract:
Research conducted on the impact of the biological filtration on the bacterial water quality is analyzed. Results include the investigation of the water treatment effect on nutrient levels that enter the distribution systems.
