While digital cameras currently account for only less than 1% of the company's total sales, Schulze is confident that the digital imaging has a huge market potential. JOBO Fototechnic Inc has unveiled the proFile 4000 and 6000 medium-format digital camera backs. Both units employ a 6-megapixel 3,00-by-2,000-pixel CCD sensor array that is 36.9-by-24.6 mm in size. The difference between the two models is that proFile 4000 is a single-shot device, while proFile 6000 is designed for multi-shot capture from four to 16 exposures for greater sharpness and color accuracy.

The unit features a 1,024-by-768- pixel CCD sensor, 4 MB of internal memory, a CompactFlash Card slot, optical viewfinder and 1.8-inch LCD monitor and 34 mm equivalent focal lengths with macro-close-up mode. The camera also has a built-in flash, USB connectivity and JPEG file formats.
