Bickerton's group profit was flat for 1997 to 1998, but the profit from construction rose to 343,000 pounds sterling from 248,000 pounds in this period. Bickerton's profit is forecast at 600,000 pounds sterling for 1998 by Teather and Greenwood, rising to 1.5 million pounds for the following year. The timing of sales of real estate has an impact on the company's results.
